Postgraduate Program ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

The discipline of the Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies “Environment and Development” is the enhancement of scientific and technological research and the production of new interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of “Environment and Development”.

The objectives of the MSc Program as follows:

a) The interdisciplinary deepening and specialization of graduate engineers from NTUA or other Greek Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and recognized foreign universities, as well as other scientists, primarily focusing on integrated interdisciplinary approaches, research methodologies, collaboration techniques and addressing the multifaceted issues and problems of the Environment and Development. This aims to adequately address the relevant needs of the public, social and private sectors.

b) In-depth training and development of research capabilities of engineers and other scientists, enabling them to contribute to the generation of new knowledge.

The MSc Program “Environment and Development” awards a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (DPS) in the field of Environment and Development upon successful completion of the relevant curriculum, with the following specializations:

a) “Environment and Development” 
b) “Environment and Development of Mountain Regions” 

The minimum duration of studies in the MSc Program is 3 academic semesters and the maximum duration of enrollment is 2 years.

Holders of the DPS can apply for continuation of their studies in one of the participating NTUA Schools of the Programme, in order to obtain a PhD Degree. The selection of PhD candidates is made in accordance with the Doctoral Studies Regulations of the School.

Internationalization of the Programme: The MSc Program “Environment and Development” has been included in the Internationalization Program of Postgraduate Studies of NTUA, under the project “Support Actions for the Internationalization of Postgraduate Studies of the National Technical University of Athens” (MIS 6004804), co-financed by Greece and the European Union through the Operational Program “Human Resources and Social Cohesion 2021-2027”, with the aim of involving foreign students within and outside the European Union, as well as promoting the educational and research activities of NTUA.
